Located just outside of Manchester - only a 30-minute train journey away - is the little town of Hebden Bridge. This quaint town only has a population of around 4,500 and is full to the brim of independent retailers, locally sourced food, and stunning views.
Planning a visit to Hebden Bridge:
When to visit: for a less busy trip, October - May is ideal. August is the most popular time of year for visitors.
What to do: a walk along the canals is a must, browse the many antique shops and visit one of the tearooms.
Hotel costs: between £45-£130 per night.
If you're looking for a great day trip destination or a quiet romantic weekend away, Hebden Bridge really is the best place to visit. This small market town makes for the perfect place to meander along the water, admire the stunning architecture and do a little local shopping.
The market is open from Thursday to Sunday each week between 9 - 4 and each day there's a new offering - so if you're up for checking out local produce, food, second-hand goods & general retail stalls then maybe make it a 4-day trip!
